The ability to preview the output of your Table Map was introduced in the “Carbon” release of the Update Set. You can read more about this feature on our wiki (https://wiki.perspectium.com/doku.php?id=snc_table_maps#preview_output). However, just want to highlight how this tool can help you when setting up custom elements of an integration.

For a quick summary a Table Map is a way to customize the payload that you create when a record is modified within ServiceNow. This can be done on a full script basis or through individual Table Field Maps. Previously when setting up some of these integrations I would have to:
    – Modify a piece of the Table Map
    – Pull up a source record
    – Update that record
    – Find the outbound message
    – Decrypt the value

Now with this you can just modify your table map and click the “Preview Output” button. I can do this much quicker than the previous way and very iteratively go through piece by piece and make my changes.

I can also go back and test a record in production using this to see what the output is, WITHOUT having to update the record.
